What to expect as an online master’s student
Getting a master’s degree is a big milestone in your personal, creative and professional growth. This journey will change how you think and work. We’ll challenge you to explore your subject via many different methods.
Here’s a general idea of what will be expected of you as an online master’s student.
Reading and research are key aspects of master’s level study. We'll give you a reading list, but you should expand your knowledge by going beyond it. This will deepen your understanding of your subject and enrich your research projects. Embrace the opportunity to explore different perspectives and theories.
Independent study is a big part of your learning experience at this level. So, you’ll need to be proactive about setting your own schedule. You’ll have access to a wide range of student support services, but you're responsible for staying on top of your studies.
Academic writing is also an integral part of study at a master’s level. If you’ve been out of education for a while, or this is your first time studying an academic course in English, don’t worry. We offer resources to help you brush up on your academic writing skills.
